DoPT: Department of Personnel & Training


Departement of Personnel & Training is an Indian central agency by government, which is under the ministry of personnel, public grievences & pensions. This department is for monitoring & supervising recruitment, job vacancies & training of employees or selected candidates and staff welfare.

The Ministry comprises of the following three Departments.
  •   Department of Personnel & Training (DOPT)
  •   Department of Pensions & Pensioners' Welfare (DOP&PW)
  •  Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG)

Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issues certain orders for government employees regarding the performance of employees & skill up-gradation.

DOPT consist of following Divisions/Wings:

Establishment Officer’s Division

This Division processes all proposals for senior appointments in the Government of India. There are few recruitments that need approval under the Government of India Transactions of Business Rules, 1961. These recruitment are monitored by Establishment Officer's Division.

Personnel policies of Central government employees comes under this division. This Wing does not inclue Civil services officers & Joint Consultative Machinery for Central Government Employees.
Matters related to SSC Staff selection commission & UPSC the Union Public Service Commission are also under establishment division.

AT & A Wing

 AT & A wing handles all matters related to following:
1. Personal Management of Department Of Personnel & Training & its employees along with vigilance matters of the DOPT
2. Reservation in Services
3. RTI policy including administration of CIC, all matters relating to cadre management of CSS/CSSS/CSCS
4. Allocation of services of state Govt. employees after reorganization of states and redeployment of surplus staff.

TRAINING DIVISION


This division administer the training for Indian civil services. It also sponsors a number of training programmes on a variety of subjects for different categories of Central and State Government employees.

  • Administering Policy matters in training
  • Identification of functional areas of training
  • Designing  and  implementing  training  programs  for officers involved in the priority development sectors
  • Development of trainers and training capability
